What is Fascinationism*?
Unable to focus on one clear pigeon-holeable genre of music, the Fascinationists* infuse their work with a whole spectrum of
influence. As a Fascinationist* one might play a jangly new wave 80’s retro style hit, a latin number, a mid-eastern trance-
piece, some 70’s Zepplin or Stones inspired rock and an “alt-country” tune all in the one set.
“Why it’s simply unheard of” explains one music row inmate.“How can these performers get away with it? Their shows are
so.... entertaining. There’s simply no thread throughout, no theme, I couldn’t predict or compare any part of the show... it’s
very disturbing”

What about the imminent success of Fascinationism*?
“We don’t want to make anyone feel bad... so by labelling the indefinable, we are allowing our industry “friends” something to
cling to. They like to feel safe... safe in their jobs, safe that the music has a label and can now be “marketed”...and so I think
this will really take off ” she adds ...“Yes, yes indeed - Fascinationism is definitely the next biggest thing about to happen.
Soon every label will want at least one Fascinationist act, if not two or three.”
